So This is the New Year

Ahhhh, we made it. We effectively stripped out of our 2006 clothes last night and into our 2007 digs this morning. It was a fun night of partying (only one block from my place, so we partied smart) and now I’m sitting here waiting for the Capital One bowl to start (where I’ll hopefully see one last Arkansas football win until the fall).

As with last year’s post about new year’s resolutions, I’m going to post my resolutions here – so you all can mock me when I fail to abide by them. By the way, I only failed to come through on two of last year’s resolutions (financial advisor and monthly budget). Not bad. I had 10 sodas total, paid off one credit card and found a cheaper place to live (among other things).

So what’s on tap for 2007? I’m going to carry over several from last year, just to track progress, but here’s what I got:

  1. Set up a meeting with a financial planner. (Priority number one)
  2. Limit fried potato intake to once a month. (This includes french fries, fast food hash browns, tater tots, etc.)
  3. Visit Kansas City’s museums. (I haven’t been to any of them and I’ve lived here for 7 years now)
  4. Pay off other credit card.
  5. Walk to work at least twice a week. (It’s only 10 minutes away, and it’s nice to get outside)
  6. Use all of my vacation days. (I lost out on 1.5 days in 2006)
  7. Go through storage items and purge. (Seriously, how much crap do we need?)
  8. Boycott shopping at Wal-Mart. (from last year)
  9. Limit my soda intake to one a month. (from last year)

There you have it, the nine resolutions for 2007. What do your resolutions entail?
