How are you built?

While reading my daily news, I happened across an interview with Kevin Garnett that, while being a few years old, is amazing. It’s refreshing. It’s real. It really is, simply amazing. You see, during the interview, former Georgetown coach John Thompson asks Garnett about several things including the firing of his former coach, how physically beat up he is right now and other usual interview-like questions. But, like KG can only be, spouts the real truth.

Even if you’re not a sports fan, or have any knowledge of Garnett’s career, or the NBA for that matter, this is fantastic. It might be nine minutes long, but I think you’ll enjoy taking the time to watch it. KG boils it down to how he hates losing. He’s putting the team on his back and feels the pain when they lose. To him, it’s not about the money or the fame, it’s about playing ball – because that’s how he’s built.

Think about that for a second. He was “built that way.” When was the last time you thought you were born to do something? Now, the tougher question, are you doing it? Are we all built that way? Sure we could take the easy way out, flock to the money, gobble up the fame (if it’s present)... but when it’s all gone, was it worth it?

KG was built that way. How are you built?

Thanks to Bryan Chiao, over at Rm116, who posted the clip I’m talking about. Great find.

Sometimes Blogging Goes on Hold

The BEST Vanity Plates Evar Golly! I know that workload sometimes ebbs and flows... but it’s really ebbing right now. Or is it flowing? Whichever, I’ve been busy at work doing a ton of stuff. Hopefully, soon, I’ll be able to share some of the things we’re working on. In the meantime, just trust me that they’re all very cool. VERY.

In my off-time, which there hasn’t been much of, I’ve run across these things that I feel are time-worthy:

Dream Team Redux
If anyone watched the FIBA Americas championship last week, like I did, then you’ll know that the US team is easily the favorite to win gold at next summer’s Olypmics. Seriously. This team put the smack down on everyone they faced, and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. To see 90% of today’s elite NBA stars playing what All-Star basketball should be isn’t only entertaining, it’s a reaffirmation that basketball is the United States’ sport. And I’m not the only one that thought we played extremely well.

Oklahoma’s New Vanity Plates
If this isn’t the most redneck and overly patriotic license plate you can get... then I’m not sure what is. The sad thing, if every single one of you Oklahomans don’t get one, I’ll think a LOT less of you and will probably sue you for $63,000,000,000 billion dollars, like this guy did to Michael Vick. Grow up and be American, would you?

Seth’s State of Sports
Bowling started two weeks ago – and I haven’t bowled a single frame yet. I’m playing kickball – our team is good at drinking, not winning. Fantasy Football starts this weekend – it’s been too long.

New Star Wars Rap
Hilarious.
