Unsolved Mysteries

Okay, I need some assistance in solving some mysteries that I (the Google guy) haven't been able to pinpoint over the past few years...

"Scariest Haunted House in Missouri"
Something that friends and I have "heard from someone else," is that somewhere in Missouri there's a Haunted House that's so scary, if you make it to the top (or bottom, depending on what you've heard) you get your money back. If this is true, where in the hell is it and do they have a web site? Searching only got me these answers: rumor-buster #1, rumor-buster #2.

Gooseneck Secret
Growing up, I think the worst thing that could happen to me would be staying home sick. This is because we didn't have cable television and if I wanted to lull myself to sleep, I'd be stuck watching PBS until Transformers and/or GI Joe came on in the afternoon. One show that I couldn't stand, that of course stuck in my head, was some freaky yoga-like lady wearing tights that sat in a dark room, and at some point would share secrets with the viewers. Like most kids, there was a 'secret handshake' of sorts, except, there was no handshake. No, instead, you jutted your chin out three times (once to the left, then the middle, ending on the right)... that's called a Gooseneck Secret. Please, someone, tell me that you remember this!

I don't know about the money-back haunted house but my friend knows a dude who went to a haunted swimming pool last Halloween. And a haunted truck.

Yes I remember the gooseneck, gooseneck, gooseneck secret. But I adored the show, and loved when I got to stay home to watch it. I believe it was called "Cathy". Remember the bathtub?

SOMEONE REMEMBERED!!!! But to make it worse, I can't dig up any information on that show, either. Who are you, oh masked anonymous one?

I cannot find any info on the show either. We probably never will :( Unless they're hiding it away in some secret PBS vault, only to return on DVD for a limited time. We can dream.

I too remember the deathly skinny gooseneck woman. I've been searching everywhere to find info about this show. Thank God I'm not the only one who remembers this.

Oh my goodness! No one is ill, I promise. Where in Arkansas are you all from? Kelli Kelso was the lady's name. My sister and I used to watch that show and LOVED it.

How did you know any of us are from Arkansas? Actually I am in central now and am from the northeast part..was this show shown in AR only on AETN? I can't believe this many people remember. I swear her name was Cathy..maybe that was just her pretend name.

I live in Ft. Smith Arkansas and I use to watch the gooseneck secret lady also. I was only 3 or 4 so it must have been around 1981-82 maybe it was a bit later. I've been trying to find it. IT was on around the same time as that other PBS show that took place at a circus and had a clown that had a bad lisp and said her s's funny. I must drink beer and watch these again on the double. somebody please, MORE INFO!!!!

Holy crap, someone else remembers this show...I totally had a random thought about "gooseneck...gooseneck...gooseneck" and decided to do a web search. I'm from Little Rock, born and raised here, and I would watch the HELL out of PBS/AETN as a kid. Thanks for this!

I also remember the gooseneck secret show (and I also got here because I searched for it!). I grew up in southwest Missouri, and I believe I did see it on AETN. And, I have to admit, I did like it at the time.

I was telling my wife about this show today (she is 4 years younger and doesn't remember at all). I remember Kelly and the show with the lisp clown. I also remember this show Dragons, Ladders, and Chutes that had an awesome animated intro with a dragon going down a river and lighting a match in a cave. Has anyone found any video proof of these shows?

I received the information below from AETN. This was driving me crazy, too, so I emailed their programming department. Turns out it WAS a locally produced show. Hope this helps.
----------------------------------------
Jason: The show was an AETN production, and, I believe the show was
simply titled KELLY. The programs were designed for a pre-school
audience. If I remember right, we only produce the show for maybe 26
episodes and it aired for several school years.

Some years back, during a "house cleaning" project all the videotape
containing these shows were discarded. We don't even have written files
on the programs any more, so I can't really tell you any more about them.

We appreciate your interest in our programming efforts - both past and
present - and hope that you always find TV worth watching on AETN.

This is so upsetting! I too grew up in Arkansas. My brother & I were talking about the "gooseneck" lady just a few days ago. We both live in Indiana now and all of our friends just looked at us like we were crazy. I was hoping to find these videos as a fun Christmas present for him this year. Guess we'll never see Kelly's gooseneck secret again. So sad!

I grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas... and I remember this show. I am now 30, and it took me until a couple of days ago to figure out that she was saying "goose neck secret" I always thought she was saying "goo snack" secret and I never understod why. I am so happy that oyher people remeber this as well. Does anyone remeber a show called Giggle Snort Hotel?

Contrary to other spellings, the show was called "KELLIE." That's even how it's listed on the AETN web site (on a big listing titled "shows that have been deleted" or something like that).

I remember the show fondly, but when I really think about it, I remember it as absolutely boring. It always makes me think of being sick and, like you said, having nothing else to watch.

Anyway, my mom once told me that Kellie was governor at Arkansas Girls State one year. If I remember to, I'll give her a call and ask her some other questions. (like what was her last name and all).

I also remember Gigglesnort Hotel.

And this will give you some crazy-ass AETN flashbacks.

I don't know about the spelling (I always assumed it was KELLY) but her name was definitely Kelly/Kellie.

Remember at the beginning of the show there was something about "Now WHERE is that Kelly???"

Okay, I was telling my husband (from PA) about this show and he thought I was crazy. I grew up just outside of Ft. Smith, AR. I wonder if "Kelly" is still alive. If she is, we should storm her house and videotape her doing the "gooseneck secret." AETN has disappointed a generation!

There is a scary house thing that is like that in Paducha, Kentucky. But I can't remember the name of it. I remember they had a web site but I don't remember it either.

Wow, I can't believe this subject has been going on for so long, LOL! I loved the Gooseneck lady, although I was totally terrified of her house. I felt sure that if she fell through one of the dark shadow places she'd go straight to Hell, LOL. I still have the same group of friends from when I was a small child, and every now and then we'll do the Goosneck secret chant, LOL!

I grew up in Hot Springs and definitely remember this Gooseneck show. I am surprised to read here that it seems it was only an local show. Does anyone remember the strange PBS show that seems like there were clowns faces that outlined the screen? I don't know the name or even remember what the show was about.

It's a gooseneck secret!" ..and we shared a laugh..and I too was googling Gooseneck Secret and it sent me here..So hi to all of you lovely Arkansans...Hope you have a very Merry Christmas. :)

I remember the gooseneck gooseneck secret lady--that is how I found you. I remember that she would make you take all the stuff you learned and place it in your magic camera and hide it at the top of the screen. Mind you the whole show was done in pantomime!

For some crazy reason "gooseneck secret" popped into my head today. Of course I did a search and this is all that popped up. Glad to know I wasn't making up such a crazy thing! I don't really remember anything except the phrase and the jutting of the chin. I grew up in Northern Louisiana, about 30 miles from the Arkansas border.

Thankfully someone else remembers this show! I've tried telling my wife (from Texas) about it, and she looks at me like I'm crazy. I thoughat I remembered her in a dark room on a porch, but nothing else, and before doing "something" she would do the gooseneck thing. I have a crappy memory, but that's what I picture.

Another show that's been driving me crazy trying to remember was about these characters living in a treehouse. One was a big brightly colored bird, and i can't remember the rest. Let me know if you remember this show. I'm sure it was on AETN as well.

I grew up in Conway and remember "Gooseneck Secret" as well. Every so often a faded vision of her doing her little ritual with bubble up in my brain and I'll do a google for it to see if I can find anything. This is the first time I've got a hit on it and I'm glad to see I wasn't hallucinating the whole thing. Thank you google!

FINALLY!!! I have searched for this information for years. I have asked others if they remember "gooseneck, gooseneck, gooseneck" and they look at me like I have 3 heads. LOL! I was a kid in late 70's early 80's and grew up in Searcy. I never realized it was an AR program. Too bad that there are no old copies on youtube. Weird show, but it brings back memories.

I also remember either at the beginning or at the end of the show, a child's voice would say...' Where's that Kelly at" I still say that today, and my gf looks at me as if I'm crazy. Great memories, sure wish I could see some old reruns of that show.
